What happens for weddings?
We like to be transparent on what is going to happen when you're working with us.
While weddings isn't our main bread and butter anymore, we're still shooting up to 10 weddings a year.
Here's the timeline of what will likely happen when you contact us to shoot your wedding.
We want to be as helpful as possible. As always, feel free ask us any questions you might have.
First thing's first. We'll talk about your wedding and you two as a couple. We'll tell you about us. The first time meeting someone new can be strange and awkward, but we try to make sure it's not! We're all about making sure you're comfortable with us and we are with you.
We'll send over a questionnaire to help us get to know you and your style.
We'll also set up a meeting at this point, if we haven't already. We're a big fan of meeting you face-to-face for a cup of coffee at Grace Street Coffee, if you're in DC, or any other location you happen to love. We're also up to meeting over a glass of wine or beer if the evenings work better for you. Otherwise, we can set up a phone call.
We'll talk some more.
We'll answer any questions you might have for us. Feel free to send us as many questions as you have, even if you have a thousand different questions that you think of at different times. We'll answer a thousand emails.
We're only taking on up to ten weddings a year, so we want to make sure we're a good fit for you.
We'll talk about the business details.
After we talk about the fun details, we'll also talk about the package details and pricing. Our packages vary on the hours of coverage desired, but we'll always have two photographers at your wedding, following you two as you experience your day. It's always fun watching the day when we're editing from both the bride's perspective and the groom's perspective.
Once we've settled which package you would like, we'll send you a contract and give you details on how to pay the deposit. When we get the signed contract and the deposit, you're officially booked! We're excited!
All of our packages also include an engagement session. It's up to you whether or not you would like to shoot an engagement session, but we highly recommend it. It helps you get used to us taking photos of you and practice being in front of a camera.
Most of our couples use the engagement session as their Save the Date photo card and as decorations around their reception area.
We'll deliver your engagement session photos about two weeks after the session. You'll have a link to download the digital files and send that link to your family members. The link will also allow you to purchase prints.
We'll help you not be camera shy.
We'll help you put together a timeline for your wedding. If you're working with a wedding planner or a day-of planner, please let us also help them create the timeline. Some of our favorite photos that we capture revolve around the light outside and we want to make sure you can get the most beautiful natural light during your wedding day.
We'll help you plan.
The night before, we pack all of our bags, charge the batteries and get the car ready.
We'll meet you at the decided location and photograph you as you zip up your dress, put on your tie, watch your parents / friends / you cry and photograph you partying the night away because you did it! You're married!
We'll be with you on your wedding day.
About 4 - 6 weeks after your wedding, you'll get the whole edited gallery. We'll send you a special link so you can send them to your friends and family. You'll be able to order prints from the gallery also. The link stays up until about a year after your wedding.
Need any other photography? We'll be here. We'll also travel.
